Today advertisements will be put in a number of national papers seeking interest from the non-governmental sector in taking on the work of Home Care in NSW.
This is a preliminary step for the Government and will give them an indication of who might be interested in buying Home Care. The ad says the following:
- The NSW government is only meeting with providers who are willing to take on home care ‘as a whole or a substantial part’. United Voice members are fighting to keep Home Care together as one entity to ensure continuity of care across the state.
- The Government has cited that ‘opportunity for efficiency gains’ exists. They say this could be done by introducing new technology into operations. United Voice members will be fighting to ensure “efficiency gains” is not at the expense of workers.
